The Badin H. S. Orienteering Club
Announces the first meeting of this school year.
When?
It will be held Thursday, 5:00 P.M. at school. All are welcome to attend.
What is Orienteering?
Orienteering is a competitive form of land navigation. It is for all ages and degrees of fitness and skill. It provides the suspense and excitement of a treasure hunt. The object of orienteering is to locate control points by using a map and compass to navigate through the woods.
What does the club do?
There will be weekly meetings and weekly Orienteering events. At the meetings the club members will learn new concepts and skills, and plan and discuss upcoming events. At the events the club members will practice the newly learned skills and compete against each other and other high schools.
What
is “ROKS”?
That’s the Ram’s Orienteering Klub Stupid!
What are the requirements to join?
If you enjoy the outdoors, like to solve logic problems, like reading maps, want to learn how to use a compass, or just want to check it out, then you meet the requirements.
So… If you have any questions or want to find out more about Orienteering, just show up. If you can’t make it to the first meeting or event, then come to the second.
